Going Green: ICCT Banks on Electric Vehicles for Net Zero, Finds CNG Worse than Diesel

Net Zero: Passenger vehicle industry in India is considering multiple fuel technologies including electric vehicles, hybrids, compressed natural gas, flex-fuels, amongst others. However, research agency International Council on Clean Transportation is of the view that while it makes sense to not restrict ourselves to a single technology, having a level playing field and developing the ecosystem for each of them is not practically feasible.

Net Zero

New Delhi: With a collective aim of going emission free, the passenger vehicle industry in India Net Zero is considering multiple fuel technologies including electric vehicles, hybrids, compressed natural gas, flex-fuels, amongst others. However, while these may be moving in the right direction, each of them may not be necessarily feasible in the long run, says research agency International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT).

Did you know that ICCT is placing its bets on electric vehicles to help achieve net zero emissions? They’ve been studying different fuel options and found that CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) might not be as environmentally friendly as we thought, even worse than diesel in some cases! It’s exciting to see the push towards greener transportation options like electric vehicles. Looks like we’re on the right track to a cleaner, healthier future!”

Net Zero

“ICCT’s findings highlight the importance of investing in electric vehicles as a key solution to combat climate change and reduce air pollution. With their zero-emission technology, electric vehicles offer a promising path towards achieving net zero emissions and creating a healthier environment for future generations.

It’s time to embrace this green revolution and support the transition to cleaner transportation options. Together, we can make a significant impact in safeguarding our planet for years to come.”
